Good Morning Church! Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend? Today I just wanted us to praise God. Before we can do that, I just want to remind you that God forgive all sins and there’s nothing that you could ever do that will separate you from his grace and glory. You are forgiven. You are a child of God and forever so.
Now let’s look at the praise scriptures. Psalm 56:12: “ I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you. “ David is making a promise to God that he will thank God for all the things that God do for him. How amazing is that? This is a lifetime commitment and we can assume at that time that David had accepted and known the wonders of God and so he had no alternatives it’s was either God or nothing. Isn’t that amazing faith? Will you do that? For anything that happens in your life, you give it to God? I definitely want to be like David.
Did you know that David was the greatest physical and spiritual warrior in the Bible, in my opinion, greater than Samson or even Peter? David killed Goliath as a young boy, David was a shepherd whom we see Jesus carrying the same title, and David was also called the anointed one after Saul, and Jesus was also called the anointed one. Do you think you now understand why David wrote the book of psalms? All he wanted was to share his experience with God and hence he dedicated numerous articles on just praising God.
Hopefully, I didn’t sidetrack you there for a movement but I’m just happy for David and for the works that God revealed through him.
Let’s now look at another verse, Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
We now see Paul teaching the Philippians how to give thanks to the Lord. Paul admits that Jesus is the one who transcends all our thinking (he knows what we want and what we think about), isn’t it obvious that we can only talk our mind and thoughts to the person who knows them? And Paul continues by saying do not be worried but in every situation pray and present your requests to God. This is what faith is all about. This is what believing is Church.
I pray this morning that we give thanks and glorify God like how David and Paul did, perhaps even greater. God is the one who moves mountains and tribulations in our lives, we owe it all to him Church. Let no one tell you otherwise, God needs to be credited for all the things he does for us. You ate food this morning, you got a job and a good family – who can do that? It’s only God! Nobody else Church. I pray that all of you prosper and God reveals himself and gives you life-changing experiences. Amen.
