We start our series this week looking at what God has in store for us and what prayers we should be saying out to the Lord to retrieve the promises. Let me begin by taking you to John 7:38 “He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’
We see that when we fully trust in God in our prayer, you shall receive like the rivers of Babylon. God promises us that when we pray and believe, we shall receive. We often get into the confusion that praying is a ritual practice, it is not! Hear me today, prayer is means to communicate to the father, exercising our gift of faith, to draw near and unlock the promises he has for us. You have to believe to receive.
Do not forget, in fact do not pray and say “ Lord I need”, say Lord “ Thank you for the wonderful promises you have showered me with” . Faith means you believe by not seeing and trusting that it is so. So your prayer needs to embolden your faith and in that effect unlocks the promises of grace.
I want to you practice this today and for the rest of the week. Memorise and internalize this scripture; Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them’ see what Jesus is saying here, when you ask, believe and then it shall be given to you. I’m asking you to use faith in your prayer! I’m asking you to stop praying as if you’re rushing somewhere or need to do this because you have to but meditate and imagine what your faith is in you and what it provides for in your life. Practice this today!
